HAYDN CRAGG
About Haydn
My name is Haydn Cragg, I'm 19 years old and I live in Plymouth during the holidays but currently studying Computing for Business at Aston University in Birmingham. My goal is to become a Royal Naval Officer, but at the moment I am in my second year and planning on doing a Masters degree in IT project management. This means if you need your computer fix then I am the person to help you :).
In the past I have been a Radio Presenter for Castledown Radio in which I did a two hour show called 'back to the future' every Thursday for two years, but had to leave because of moving commitments. But loved interviewing people and taking in peoples requests the funniest one was someone who wanted to propose live on radio which was very cool and I was nervous for him. I was known then as DJ Craggy which always made me laugh. I have also helped out in the London 2012 Olympic games as a 'Games Maker'. I was based in Newcastle for 2 weeks and my role was Venue Communications Member, making sure that the airways were used correctly and if any information needed to be passed around the venue then we would be charge of dealing with it. It was great fun and if I could turn back time I would do it again. Also and this is my claim to fame, I was on a ITV gameshow called 'Don't Blow the Inheritance' hosted by Tim Vine. Had so much fun and even though we got knocked-out in the semi-finals we had an experience that I will not forget.
I am thrilled that I have been appointed as a radio activity counsellor at Camp Takajo in Maine. This means that I will be teaching the children how to use the radio and present some shows which will be aired around the camp on a FM frequency. It is a massive honour to be given this role as I am passionate about radio and I am sure this will be reflected when I teach the children.
I have quite a few interests that I love doing, one of which is Half Marathons (I bet some people will be thinking I am mad) but I love the experience of taking part in something with 17,999 other people. I also like doing squash as I used to be in my first team at college.
I hope my blogs will give you a incite into what it is like being at a summer camp and if you have any questions please email me via the contact page or tweet me @HaydnCragg.
All the best,
Haydn Cragg
