About Saskia...
Hi, I’m Saskia, I am 19 and I live in a village near Portsmouth. I am currently finishing my A levels at sixth form and in September, I will start university in London and study Children’s Nursing.
I decided to apply for Camp Leaders because I love travelling and didn’t want to spend the summer in England, so when my mum suggested that I go to America to work at a summer camp, I couldn’t say no as it sounded like such an amazing opportunity!
I was placed as a violin teacher at a performing arts camp in New York. My duties will involve teaching the kids violin and also playing in the orchestra. As well as the violin, I sing and play the piano and guitar. I have been performing for such a long time yet I have never really taught so it will be interesting to finally get the chance to teach the violin.
I also enjoy sports especially climbing and running. I go climbing every week at a local climbing wall and have done a bit of rock climbing at Snowdonia. I have been running since I was 13 and run once or twice a week. I would really like to run a marathon some day.
I hope you enjoy my blog and it gives you an insight into my life at camp and to everyone applying for camp, good luck with your application :)
