About Jodie...

Hello I'm Jodie Duffy, I'm 22 years old and live in a small village in County Durham which is located in the North East of England.

Since I was 16 I've been in and out of education. I received my first qualification at New College Durham i studied a First Diploma in Performing Arts and i also have a First Diploma in Art and Design. I left New College Durham in 2007. I started Counselling Skills Level 2 in September 2008 i went to Bishop Auckland College and in January 2009 I completed the course and left trying to find a job. I haven't had much luck when it comes to jobs. I've had a few placements in retail but i wasn't took on permanently. In 2010 i wanted to be a Travel Agent as I loved the thought of working in the Travel agency so i applied for an Apprenticeship with Hays Travel. I got to the second interview and lost out. So applied again in 2011 and had no luck again.

So i arranged an appointment with a Careers Advisor and she suggested Camp America so i typed into Google and checked out site but saw the Wage wasn't very high. But Americamp came up in the search and i clicked on the website and it was very appealing so i applied in August 2012 and I'm waiting to be placed at a Camp as a Drama Counselor. I'm currently a voluntary teacher at my local Stagecoach teaching children and teenagers  aged 6 - 16 years Drama. We are working on Grease for March. I love teaching and I love getting the experience so i can share with children in the USA. I'm also in a Theatre Society and have a part in our next play which is in May. Hopefully i will have the best Summer of my life and Americamp
will be my first proper job.
